Individual and Family Consultation and Collaboration
Children especially, have many relationships within the community. This can involve services through their physician, school, community programs and family activities. There are times when having a psychologist participate in the recommendation and coordination of services is most beneficial. Dr. Walker actively participates in meetings and discussions that impact the services and needs of individual adults, families and children. She will participate, as an expert, when it pertains to obtaining, keeping or identifying necessary supports. This has been utilized during Individualized Education Planning meetings, Inter-Agency Service Planning Team (ISPT) meetings and as requested for various other settings where psychological expertise is indicated.
Corporate and Business Collaboration/Consultation
We have worked closely with academic and corporate settings to provide collaborative care, expert opinion/summation and education around behavioral health. At times educational institutions and corporations require a psychologist consultation in order to obtain, deduce down and identify problem-solving steps to ameliorate presenting obstacles. At other times, small and large psychological practices require additional supervision or consultation for staff performing behavioral health care. We would be open to discussing how the Academy may be of service to your needs.
Supervision
As a licensed psychologist, Dr. Walker is able to provide clinical supervision to other professionals in the behavioral health system. In addition to being a licensed clinical psychologist, she also holds a License as a Professional Counselor. Dr. Walker and the Academy are passionate about providing supervision and guidance to other professionals who are seeking to obtain licensure or want to create a working relationship to supplement their practice or maintain general competencies.
Training
We provide training for large and small groups. Audiences often include educators, fellow clinical and human service professionals, clergy, civic organizations, parent groups, support groups and conferences. Topics and style of presentation are tailored to meet the needs of the audience.
